An immigrant who has been in the U.S. illegally for more than 180 days will be barred from returning to the U.S. for three years if the immigrant physically departs the U.S. If the immigrant is in the U.S. illegally for more than one year and physically departs the U.S. the immigrant will be barred for ten years from returning.
